Magmatic activity and hydrocarbon potential revealed by Paleozoic collapse structures in the Hangjinqi area, northern Ordos Basin, China

چکیده

Collapsed reflections of lower Ordovician carbonates and upper Carboniferous-lower Permian coal-bearing strata occur below the middle Shihezi Formation in Hangjinqi area, northern Ordos Basin. This study takes advantage three-dimensional seismic data, logging core data well-testing to investigate genesis collapsed their implications for hydrocarbon potential. These collapse structures have a subcircular appearance map view. The columnar basement volcanic tuff around indicate that formation these are related magmatic activity. Most terminate upward H1 member Formation, which explains its greater thickness supports hypothesis activity occurred during depositional stage early Permian. can increase space reservoirs, magma conduit also regional sedimentary cap rock above improve sealing capacity rock. results provide insights into potential Paleozoic rocks

Paleozoic oil±source rock correlations in the Tarim basin, NW China

We studied a suite of 40 oils and extracts of purported source rocks from the Tarim basin in NW China. The main group of oils comes from Tazhong and Tabei wells, which sample the largest known petroleum accumulations in the basin. These oils can be statistically correlated with extracts of Ordovician rocks based upon high relative concentrations of 24-isopropylcholestanes and low relative conce...

The Evolution and Preliminary Genesis of the Carbon Isotope for Coal Measure Tight Gas: Cases from Upper Paleozoic Gas Pools of Ordos Basin and Xujiahe Formation Gas Pools of Sichuan Basin, China

In classic theory, the natural gas generated by organic matter (OM) would become dry with the increase of source rock maturity [1]. Meanwhile, the carbon isotope of gas would become heavy during the evolution process of source rock [2-4]. However, some new characteristics of geochemistry appear in shale gas found in shale with over maturity, such as the isotopic rollover, partial reversal and f...

\"DOMINANCY\" IN THE SECOND SOMATOSENSORY AREA REVEALED BY MAGNE TOENCEPHALOGRAPHY

The second somatosensory area (SlI) has been studied both by electrical evoked potentials24 and magnetoencephalography (MEG)5 Magnetic evoked fields of contralateral primary somatosensory and ipsilateral second somatosensory cortices of 12 normal subjects were recorded in response to median nerve electrical stimulation by means of a single magnetometer. We detected. in addition to the usua...

Veins, Fluid Migration and Hydrocarbon Generation in the Utica Shale, Northern Appalachian Basin, New York

The Upper Ordovician Utica Formation of the Appalachian Basin is a potential target for natural gas development. This black shale outcrops throughout the Mohawk Valley in Central New York State. The lower Flat Creek Member is characterized by E-W Mode 2 (strike-slip) fractures, bedparallel thrusts, and N-S Mode 1 (tensile) fractures. E-W fractures and dilational jogs host the majority of calcit...
